Campardon, Émile (koė-pär-dôė’). A French biographer and historian; born in Paris, July 18, 1837; died in 1915. He made exhaustive studies of ‘The Revolutionary Tribunal of Paris’ (1866); ‘Marie Antoinette and the Necklace Case’ (1863); and ‘Madame de Pompadour and the Court of Louis XV.’ (1867); ‘Memoirs of Frederick II.’
