Paul Ansel Chadbourne (1823–1883)

Chadbourne, Paul Ansel (chad’bėrn). A distinguished American educator and miscellaneous writer; born at North Berwick, ME, Oct. 21, 1823; died in New York, Feb. 23, 1883. He was president of the Massachusetts Agricultural College at Amherst (1867 and 1882); of the University of Wisconsin (1867–70); of Williams College (1872–81). He wrote: ‘Natural Theology’ (1867); ‘Instinct in Animals and Men’ (1872); etc.
