Polo de Ondegardo (d. 1575)
Ondegardo, Polo de (on-dā-gär’dō). A Spanish historian; born in Spain, about 1500; died in Peru, about 1575. From manuscripts written by him and preserved in the archives of Simancas and the Escorial, Prescott obtained information which he used in his ‘History of the Conquest of Peru.’
