Roderich Benedix (18111873)
Benedix, Roderich Julius (be’ne-dikz). A German dramatist; born in Leipsic, Jan. 21, 1811; died there, Sept. 26, 1873. His many comedies beginning with ‘The Moss-Covered Pate’ (1841) and ‘Doctor Wasp’ are effective on the stage. His ‘Collected Dramatic Works’ were published in 27 volumes.
