Stephen Bonsal (1865–1951)

Bonsal, Stephen. An American journalist and author, born at Baltimore, MD, March 29, 1865; died in 1951. He served as special correspondent for the New York Herald in the Bulgarian-Serbian War, also in Macedonia, in Morocco and in Cuba. He was in the diplomatic service of the United States in Peking, Madrid, Tokyo, and Korea (1890–96). Among his works are: ‘Morocco as It Is,’ ‘The Real Condition of Cuba,’ ‘The Fight for Santiago’; ‘The Golden Horse Shoe,’ ‘The American Mediterranean’ (1912).
