Theodor Waitz (18211864)
Waitz, Theodor (vītz). A distinguished German psychologist and anthropologist; born at Gotha, March 17, 1821; died on May 21, 1864, at Marburg. His more notable works are: an edition of Aristotle’s ‘Organon’ (2 vols., 1844–46); ‘Principles of Psychology’ (1846); ‘Text-Book of Psychology’ (1849); ‘Anthropology of Savage Peoples’ (6 vols., 1859–72), his greatest work; ‘The North-American Indians’ (1865).
