Thomas Frognall Dibdin (1776–1847)

Dibdin, Thomas Frognall. An English bibliographer; born in Calcutta, India, 1775 or 1776; died in Kensington, London, Nov. 18, 1847. Books, not as literature merely, but as things, were the objects of his study and delight, with such results as the ‘Bibliographical Decameron’ (1817); ‘Bibliophobia’ (1832); and ‘Reminiscences of a Literary Life’ (1836).
