William Adams (1807–1880)
Adams, William. A prominent American clergyman and religious writer; born at Colchester, CT, Jan. 25, 1807; died at Orange Mountain, NJ, Aug. 31, 1880. He was long pastor of the Madison Square Presbyterian Church, New York, and was president of the Union Theological Seminary in New York City from 1873 to 1880. Among his publications are: ‘In the World, not of the World’ (1866); ‘The Three Gardens’ (1867); ‘Conversations of Jesus Christ with Representative Men’ (1868).
