William Allen White (1868–1944)
White, William Allen. An American newspaper man; born at Emporia, KS, Feb. 10, 1868; died in 1944. He was proprietor and editor of the Emporia Gazette. He published in book form: ‘The Real Issue and Other Stories’ (1896); ‘The Court of Boyville’ (1899); ‘In Our Town’ (1906); ‘A Certain Rich Man’ (1909); ‘The Old Order Changeth’ (1910).
