William Henry Herndon (18181891)
Herndon, William Henry. An American lawyer and biographer; born at Greensburg, KY, Dec. 28, 1818; died near Springfield, IL, March 18, 1891. In 1843 he formed a law partnership with Abraham Lincoln, which continued formally till the latter’s death. He wrote the well-known ‘Life of Abraham Lincoln’ (1889).
