Yarrell, William. An English naturalist; born at Westminster, 1784; died at Yarmouth, Sept. 1856. He is author of ‘The History of British Fishes’ (2 vols., 1836), and ‘The History of British Birds’ (2 vols., 1843); written in popular style without impairing the scientific accuracy of the exposition.
