Woldemar Kaden (1838–1907)
Kaden, Woldemar (kä’den). A German author and translator; born at Dresden, Feb. 9, 1838; died in 1907. He filled the chair of German language and literature in the University of Naples, but resigned in 1882. He has traveled extensively in Italy, and his writings treat almost exclusively of that country. Prominent among them are: ‘Wanderings in Italy’ (1874); ‘Under the Olives’ (1880); ‘Pompeiian Tales’ (1882); ‘Italian Sketches and Pictures of Civilization’ (1889); ‘Italian Plaster Casts’ (1891).
