Wolfgang Kirchbach (1857–1906)
Kirchbach, Wolfgang (kirċh’bäċh). A German poet and novelist; born in London, Sept. 18, 1857; died in 1906. Of his numerous works, especially noticeable were: ‘Salvator Rosa’ (1880), a novel; ‘Children of the Kingdom’ (1883) “a novel cycle”; ‘Selected Poems’ (1883); ‘Waiblinger’ (1886), a modern tragedy; ‘The Judge of Men’ (1888) a comedy; the dramas ‘Gordon Pasha’ and ‘Eginhard and Emma’; and ‘What did Jesus Teach?’
