The Blind ManSkipwith Cannéll
H
The blind eyes of him
In the light of it.
In the heart of him is no anger.
At the Great Queen
Who blinded him;
’Twas a proud woman
Put out his eyes and left him
To warm their sockets
In the heat of the sun.
Only in the black rain
Burns a little anger
That she has made him blind.
